I have always been drawn to working with people and helping others.

WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE A CAREER IN REAL ESTATE?

I have always been drawn to working with people and helping others. After completing my studies at the University of Guelph in the Real Estate program, I knew beginning my career as a real estate agent was the perfect fit to merge my passion for working with people and the real estate industry.

WHAT PART OF YOUR WORK DO YOU FIND MOST REWARDING?

The part of my work that I find most rewarding has to do with the small wins throughout the day. There are so many things to be accomplished throughout the day, whether it is helping the team or clients, when it is all said and done and I’m reflecting on the day, I feel accomplished and proud of the work I’ve done.

WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE TO SETTLE IN GUELPH, WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PARTS OF THE CITY?

I was born and raised in Guelph and loved every part of growing up here. There is something about this city that is truly magnetic - from the downtown core with all the awesome local shops to the beautiful university campus. This city is the perfect place to call home.

WHAT CAN YOU BE FOUND DOING WHEN YOU'RE NOT AT THE OFFICE?

You can find me spending time with my loved ones, at the gym or cooking.

WHAT ARE SOME FEATURES YOU'D WANT IN YOUR DREAM HOME?

I would love to have a wrap-around porch and a beautiful backyard with a pool.

If you were to ask people who know me best and even those who may only know me through the real estate profession; I think you would find they would say I come by my work honestly and care about the people I represent.

REAL ESTATE EXPERIENCE

I bring 12 years of dedicated experience to the real estate industry. Over the course of my career, I've successfully closed in access of 100M in property sales in Guelph and surrounding communities. Born in ‘76, I have seen Guelph and the region change and more than double in size. In my mind, the experience of living and breathing this city my entire life is the best experience I could offer anyone I work with, particularly those who are new to the area.

BEYOND REAL ESTATE

It’s all about family, good friends, laughter and a lot of Breyer’s

ice cream (vanilla and chocolate only). I also like my jumbo juicy hot dogs plain, chicken wings mild and steak medium rare. I prefer sneakers before dress shoes, jeans before slacks, and if I had a choice a full head of hair. I’m not going to be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s because I’m a coffee drinker. A nice breakfast blend, not the fancy stuff. I tolerate the winters, yet love snow blowing the driveway. A perfect day would be a golf shank free round with temps in the low 20’s, relatively low humidity with a nice light breeze.

FAMILY

I met my wife, Carly, in 1997 at a university bar called Loose Change Lewy’s in

Waterloo. I rolled in with my pals, cemented my feet to the edge of the dance floor and remained there for the rest of the night. In seconds my eyes locked onto this tall

gorgeous brunette dancing with her girlfriends to beats of Timbaland and Biggie. They danced like they were competing in an episode of ‘Star Search’. My first words to her would come some 13 years later via a keyboard and an internet dating site. Go figure it only took 13 years to ask her out and one date for her to move in. I guess she figured I tortured myself long enough. Early on, Carly saw in me what I didn’t see in myself at the time. She encouraged me to go after my dreams while simultaneously putting hers on the back burner. It didn’t take long to realize she was special. Her selflessness and compassion for others are a couple of her best qualities. We married in 2013 and now have two great boys and an old dog whose best days are behind her. In my world family, friends and laughter are everything. I can say I’m blessed to have all three of those things and I like to think my clients are a part of that group. If you haven’t already and you would like to meet my wife Carly, please click on her profile. It’s under Carly Cain. I encourage you to do so. She’s awesome!
